Martinez: Banner reveal will be with the fans

An improbable world series for the Nationals were defeating the Dodgers then going on and beating the Astros. Stephen Strasburg deservingly so received MVP and subsequently a 245 million dollar contract (Scott Boras client). With the delay of the MLB season, the spectacle of the banner reveals, and the euphoria celebrating the victory is on hold. But this season won’t have an instrumental part Anthony Rendon who was arguably their best player. For the nationals as well, the N.L. has gotten much more onerous. The path to repeat seems to have to go through L.A. as the Dodgers made headlines with the acquisition of Price and Betts. Even in their division, the Braves are only getting better with Acuna, and Phillies led by Harper look for redemption. The national repeat odds seem dim, but the fact they still won and beat the cheating Astros makes it that much better. To commemorate that, though, the banner ceremony will have to wait and do not expect the nationals to do it virtually.

Dave Martinez says Nationals will reveal banner, rings with fans

“I’m sure that I speak for everyone in our organization: We’re going to celebrate, somehow, someway. … We want to hang the banner with fans. We want to get our rings with fans. When? We don’t know. How? We don’t know. But we want them to be involved,” Martinez said Friday from his farm in Tennessee during a video call with reporters.
